Delsie Brantley Fanney, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Jackson and Rosella Acree Brantly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton J. Fanney, siblings, Josephine Twiford, Albert Brantley, Mildred “Doodie” Stephenson, W.J. “Bill” Brantley and Carlton Brantley.
Delsie was a lifelong member of Stanley White Presbyterian Church and was very active in the Roanoke Valley Relay for Life for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia F. Jackson and her husband Bruce of Roanoke Rapids, Michelle F. Moseley and her husband, Chris of Roanoke Rapids; her son, Steve, Fanney and his wife, Maxine of Bahama NC; six grandchildren, Brandon Fanney and his wife Theresa, Lauren Winstead and her husband James, Katlyn Moseley, Garrett Moseley, Jordan Moseley, and Brooke Moseley; one great grand daughter, Samantha “Sammi” Fanney; sister in-law, Sylvia Brantley of Roanoke Rapids; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday June 11, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Stanley White Presbyterian Church in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Kevin Brunk officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends on Friday June 10, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services where arrangements are being handled.
