
Thomas Alexander Wells, 7, of Enfield went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 12, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas loved Jesus and all of his creations. He prayed often one day to meet him. He is now sheltered in his arms.
Thomas was preceded in death by his aunt Linda Griffin, and his uncles Carlton and Jerry Wells.
Thomas was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church in Littleton, a second grader at Halifax Academy and a member of Cub Scout pack 238.
Thomas is survived by his loving parents Brian and Leslie Wells and his loving brother, Wesley Norwood Wells of the home. Grandparents “Papaw” Bill and “Nana” Diane Carter of Sophia, NC; Beatrice ”Grandma Bea” and her husband Denny Critzer of Gasburg, Va.; Tommy “Granddaddy” and “Grandma” Kathy Wells of Weldon; his aunt and uncle LaDonna and Brad Wade of Gaston; cousins Brook, Taylor, Rylie, Kylie, Skyler “Peanut” and Sofie; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and his best friend Zack White.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2 PM at Enterprise Baptist Church in Littleton with Rev. Darren Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon.
The family will receive Thomas’s classmates and other children from 5-6 PM Tuesday at Askew Funeral Services, 731 Roanoke Ave., Roanoke Rapids. There will be counselors and others present to talk with the children if their parents feel that they are needed.
The family will receive everyone from 6:30-8:30 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Thomas Wells Scholarship fund at any First Citizens bank.
